Otite secretória em Cavalier King Charles
🇵🇹 -Otite secretória em Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. Paciente de 3 anos referido para avaliação por tomografia e videotoscopia de processo de otite.
A tomografia mostra a bula tímpanica à direita preenchida de forma total com material de atenuação de tecidos moles. Observamos também a presença de estrutura nodular em região peritimpanica com a mesma atenuação da encontrada na bula.
A videotoscopia permite perceber que o nódulo era uma protuberância da pars flácida timpanica em decorrência da presença de conteúdo que preenchia o ouvido médio.
O tratamento passa pela miringotomia e lavagem da bula timpanica com eliminação da secreção.
Foi feita colheita para cultura aeróbia e anaeróbia para descartar contaminação de ouvido médio.
🇬🇧 – Secretory Otitis in Cavalier King Charles Spaniel.
A 3-year-old patient was referred for CT and video otoscopy evaluation due to an otitis process. The CT scan shows the right tympanic bulla completely filled with soft tissue-attenuation material. Additionally, there is a nodular structure in the peritympanic region with the same attenuation as that found in the bulla.
Video otoscopy reveals that the nodule is a bulge of the tympanic pars flaccida, resulting from the presence of material filling the middle ear. Treatment involves performing a myringotomy and flushing the tympanic bulla to remove the secretion.
Samples were collected for aerobic and anaerobic culture to rule out middle ear contamination.
